On October 29, 2024, REPT BATTERO visited the Waratah Super Battery site in Australia. REPT BATTERO is the primary battery supplier for this project. The tour was led by the CEO of Akaysha, with the director of engineering, the chairman, and the general manager of the US branch also in attendance.

The Waratah Super Battery site is situated about 100 kilometers north of Sydney. It stands as the largest battery project in the southern hemisphere and ranks among the most powerful battery projects globally. This project covers an area of 138,000 square meters and has a capacity of up to 850MW/1680MWh, of which REPT BATTERO supplied over 70% of the cells.

Leakage Detection at Module Level

  • If leakage occurs, the return pressure is lower than 0.4 bar, system low pressure alarm reported, the refill tank will pump coolant into the system, when the return pressure is higher than 0.4 bar, alarm eliminated
  • When there is no more coolant in the refill tank, resulting in the return water pressure has been lower than 0.4 bar, it will report low pressure alarm and low liquid level alarm.
  • 15 meters of flood line, wired at the bottom of the container, to detect any liquid leaks inside the container (Coolant distributor, Pipelines, Openings). See the red line in the left picture.
  • Each container is equipped with 9 one-way floor drains. Liquid can leak out of the container, but will not enter from the outside, so water will not accumulate inside the container.
